1. The Bidder acknowledges that the vehicle identified in this sale was designed and manufactured for the United States market and may not meet Canadian standards. As a result the Purchaser may not be able to register the vehicle in Canada.
2. The Bidder acknowledges that it is their responsibility to determine from the appropriate authorities, including Transport Canada, whether this vehicle can be registered in Canada and what modifications are required to meet Canadian standards prior to submitting a bid. Canada makes no representation whatsoever regarding the admissibility of the vehicle for registration in Canada or to its mechanical, environmental or safety condition.
3. Canada strongly recommends that the Bidder consult Transport Canada, the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) and any other relevant authority, as to the admissibility of the vehicle for registration in Canada as well as the costs involved to do so, prior to making a bid. The costs incurred by these consultations, if any, will be at the Bidder's own expense.
4. The Purchaser acknowledges that they will have to bring the Bill of Sale of the vehicle to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) office indicated in the Additional Comments section of the sale.
If the Purchaser intends to register the vehicle in Canada, a Registered Imported Vehicle Form (RIV Form) will have to be completed at the Purchaser's cost. These costs include a non-refundable Registered Imported Vehicle fee (RIV Fee) collected by the CBSA. The RIV Form will have to be forwarded by the Purchaser to the appropriate Provincial Vehicular Licensing Authority (PVL Authority) for registration. If the vehicle can be registered in Canada, the PVL Authority may provide the Purchaser with a list of instructions to bring the vehicle up to Canadian standards. It is understood that all costs associated with the registration of the vehicle and with the modifications to the vehicle required to meet Canadian standards, if any, will be at the Purchaser's expense. |
