GCTransfer - Registration

GCTransfer is the Government of Canada’s asset transfer site and is available to all members of the federal public service.

GCTransfer functionality

The Directive on the Management of Material encourages the reuse of surplus assets by making them available to other federal departments and agencies before disposing of them outside the federal domain.

GCTransfer is the Government of Canada’s online platform to post, view and transfer assets within the federal domain. Material managers or material management practitioners are responsible for posting items on GCTransfer and approving transfer requests.

All members of the federal public service who have a valid Government of Canada email address can register to view and request assets posted on GCTransfer.

Register for GCTransfer and sign up for GCTransfer notifications to find out when new items of interest are posted for transfer.

If there is no request to transfer the asset, it will be released to GCSurplus for sale.

You may also register as a GCSurplus buyer to bid on and buy GCSurplus items.

    Privacy notice

    Provision of the personal information is collected pursuant to the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act and the Surplus Crown Assets Act, for the purpose of allowing you to view, bid on and buy government surplus items online.

    Personal information will be protected under the provisions of the Privacy Act and is described in the Personal Information Bank Buyer Information Crown Asset PPU 026. Under the Act, you have the right to request access to and correction of your personal information, if erroneous or incomplete.

Information about payment

GCSurplus uses Moneris to process online payments. Moneris offers greater online protection while using credit cards, as well as increased confidence and trust when buying online.

You can pay online with Visa Debit, MasterCard Debit, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Prepaid credit cards are not currently an option.

Moneris uses Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and American Express Safekey for added protection and security.
