Viewing and Pick-up

  1. For the viewing and pick-up of the goods, it is mandatory to make an appointment with the custodian at 450-358-7099, ext. 7594 or his colleagues, ext. 6347 and 6348.
  2. Viewing of the items will be held from Monday to Thursday, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the St-Jean Garrison, 25 rue Grand-Bernier.
  3. After taking the necessary arrangements with the custodian of the equipment, the buyer can take possession of the property, either in person, by a third person or by a carrier. If this option is selected, the buyer must prepare all documents required for shipping and send them to us before pick-up. Please note that the department will not prepare the items.
  4. The Department of National Defense (DND) disclaims all liability in the event of an incident or accident that may occur to the user (or any other person accompanying him) as well as to his vehicle/trailer during loading material using a forklift or other.
  5. Furthermore, no packing material, skid or box will be provided by the custodian.

Payment and Removal
Payment:
The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 3 business days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
 
Removal:
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at their expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 3 business days after the date the bill of sale is issued.

The Purchaser must also pay particular attention to the following clauses.

832.1

All sales are final. No purchased Goods may be returned and no requests for reimbursement in whole or in part will be accepted.

840.2

The purchase of textiles originating from the Department of National Defence (DND) should not include CADPAT (Canadian Disruptive Pattern) uniforms and/or accessories unless they have been reduced to rags, preferably by shredding. Reducing to rags means the uniform can never be returned to its whole state. CADPAT items are prohibited from sale and/or distribution. If by error or inadvertence the CADPAT items are left intact and are included in the sale items, the Purchaser must immediately notify GCSurplus and return these items to the client department. Any shipping costs incurred by the Purchaser will be reimbursed by the issuing Canadian Forces Base. The Purchaser's failure to comply with this clause will lead to an immediate cancellation of their GCSurplus account and appropriate legal procedures may be commenced without any further notice.

860.2

Buyers are advised to contact each asset custodian listed on the sale to determine what viewing and pick-up directions are in place as instructions may vary from location to location. The item(s) described herein are being sold offsite and not from a GCSurplus Sales Centre. For all offsite sales, Canada is responsible for making the sale items accessible for removal. They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the Purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.
