Inspection and pick-up

  • The buyer will have to comply with the guidelines described below, as well as the preventive measures related to the COVID-19 specific to the site where the property is located.
  • These will vary from one location to another and will be communicated to the buyer at the time of the appointment.

Please read the following instructions carefully:

  • The authorization to release the goods must be completed, signed and sent to the custodian of the property for an appointment to be approved.
  • No entry into the buildings will be permitted, any activity must take place outside on the base.
  • The wearing of a mask will be mandatory, including in your vehicle during the exchange with the custodian and during the pick-up.
  • A distance of 2 metres must be respected at all times.
  • In the current circumstances related to the pandemic, no inspection of the property will be permitted.
  • You must allow one week and more time for the approval of an appointment, the pick-up of a property or vehicle will only be possible by appointment, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please contact Jordan Albert at 418-570-7342 or by email at XLAU-Alienation-Surplus@dfo-mpo.gc.ca. Please note that access to the base and equipment will be denied without an appointment having been made and approved in advance.

If this option is chosen, the purchaser will need to prepare all the required shipping documents and send them to us in advance for approval of the appointment.

Payment and Removal
Payment:
The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 3 business days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
 
Removal:
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at their expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 3 business days after the date the bill of sale is issued.

All sales are final. No purchased Goods may be returned and no requests for reimbursement in whole or in part will be accepted.

844.1

With the exception of authorized dealers and registered recyclers, vehicle ownership transfer must occur prior to the vehicle being released to the owner. This transfer must be completed by the owner, who will also be responsible for any and all mandatory vehicle inspections.

860.2

Buyers are advised to contact each asset custodian listed on the sale to determine what viewing and pick-up directions are in place as instructions may vary from location to location. The item(s) described herein are being sold offsite and not from a GCSurplus Sales Centre. For all offsite sales, Canada is responsible for making the sale items accessible for removal. They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the Purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.

It is the buyer's responsibility to contact the Canadian manufacturer and, if necessary, equipment manufacturer to find out whether any notices of defects or of non-compliance (more commonly known as "recalls") have been issued with regards to the vehicle.
