MLVW - Sold for Scrap Metal Only

  • Prior to award, the purchaser must provide confirmation in writing that they are a scrap metal or vehicle recycler.
  • Vehicle is sold for scrap only and is not authorized to be reinstated as a roadworthy vehicle or to be sold as a complete vehicle to other outside agencies.
  • Weight: Approximately 14,330 lb - 19,125 lb per vehicle
  • Approximate vehicle dimensions: 279" L x 98" W x 89" H
  • Vehicles are sold for scrap metal only (with contaminants like tires, hoses, fluids, oil, etc.).
  • Transport Canada deemed all vehicles non-roadworthy.
  • Vehicles are unsafe for use as a means of transportation and will not meet provincial highway regulations due to trunnions, steering knuckles and brake systems.
  • Purchaser is responsible for draining all fluids and petroleum products.
  • If a leak or spill occurs while loading or transporting a vehicle, the purchaser is responsible for remediation and for all costs incurred.
  • DND will not provide any assistance with loading and removal of vehicles.
  • The methods and equipment used for removal, processing, and disposal must adhere to all Canadian laws and regulations.
  • All weights and measurements are approximate.
  • Some vehicles may not be exactly as shown.
  • Bidders are advised to view the materiel prior to bidding and to bid according to their own personal assessments.
  • VINs will not be provided.

Mandatory Destruction

  • Purchaser must destroy all vehicles and provide a Certificate of Destruction for each unit (a document format will be provided by DND).
  • Vehicles must be destroyed within 30 days of pick up.
  • Vehicle destruction will be deemed complete only after a Certificate of Destruction has been provided to DND.
  • All vehicles must be destroyed within 45 days of contract award.
  • Purchaser is prohibited from selling a complete vehicle to a third party.
    • Vehicles may be harvested for parts
  • Vehicles cannot be destroyed on DND's property.
  • Purchaser must provide all labour and equipment for loading, transportation, and destruction.
  • Purchaser must provide photographs as proof of destruction, when requested.
  • To ensure compliance, the purchaser agrees to allow DND personnel access to the site where the vehicles are destroyed.
  • DND will monitor compliance with destruction requirements.
  • Failure to comply with mandatory destruction requirements will lead to immediate account suspension and other possible penalties, including cancellation of the sale.
Additional comments:

Deposit

  1. To ensure compliance with the mandatory destruction and removal requirements, the purchaser must provide a separate deposit of two thousand ($2,000.00 CAD) payable by certified cheque, bank draft or irrevocable letter of credit made out to the Receiver General for Canada. This deposit will be returned via Purolator once the purchaser has certified in writing that all vehicles have been destroyed.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

  1. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to enter the building or access the site where the goods are located.
  2. When scheduling pick-up, please confirm proof of vaccination requirements with the contact noted on the sale.

Special Instructions During the COVID-19 Pandemic

  1. GCSurplus is not accepting in-person payments at sales centres at this time. We are only accepting online payments through our website.
  2. Pick-ups will be contactless. Visitors will not be permitted entry to the GCSurplus Warehouse.

Payment and Removal
Payment:
The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 3 business days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
 
Removal:
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at their expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 5 business days after the date the bill of sale is issued.

Buyers are advised to contact each asset custodian listed on the sale to determine what viewing and pick-up directions are in place as instructions may vary from location to location. The item(s) described herein are being sold offsite and not from a GCSurplus Sales Centre. For all offsite sales, Canada is responsible for making the sale items accessible for removal. They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the Purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.
