Government Markings Removal:

  1. Buyer shall fully remove all Government of Canada markings (including all logos, unit number, AEI tags, and any other identifying marks) from the Asset, within 7 business days of delivery. Buyer shall email shelley.macdonald2@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca to confirm that the markings have been removed. The custodian will then immediately delete the unit number from the Universal Machine Language Equipment Register ("UMLER"). Buyer shall ensure that prior to any use of the Asset, Buyer shall have restencilled, tagged and registered the Asset in UMLER as its own.
  2. If the cars are purchased for salvage, a certification of destruction is to be provided in lieu of removing markings.
  3. To ensure compliance with one of the above conditions, a separate deposit of two-hundred fifty dollars ($250.00 CAD) will be applied against each car for a total of four thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars ($4,750.00 CAD) payable by certified cheque, bank draft or irrevocable letter of credit made out to the Receiver General for Canada. This deposit will be returned via Purolator once the Purchaser can certify that all Government of Canada markings have been removed from the cars, or a certification of destruction has been provided. Removal arrangements for the cars will not be finalized until GCSurplus is in receipt of this performance deposit and separate payment.

Assets Removal:

  1. Removal must be coordinated with Transport Canada within 7 business days of received payment. Transport Canada will assist in a onetime free movement of the entire lot from storage to a single Canadian CP interchange. Once the cars are delivered to the interchange the Purchaser will assume all costs and responsibilities for the continued movement of the unit.
  2. If the cars are purchased for salvage, the units cannot be dismantled onsite.


Viewing:

  1. Stock photos used, units may not be exactly as shown. Representative units have been photographed for the purposes of this sale. Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the lot in person on the following dates by appointment:
    • Tuesday and Thursdays 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saskatchewan Time
  2. All viewing is by appointment only. Walk-ins will be turned away.
  3. Parties visiting the rail yard must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be accompanied by CP Mechanical Management. PPE includes but may not be limited to the following items must be supplied and worn by the bidder:
    • Face masks
    • Steel toed boots
    • Hard hat
    • Safety Glasses
    • High Visibility Safety Vest
    • Work Gloves (if inspecting equipment)
    • Ear Protection

Payment and Removal
Payment:
The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 5 business days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
 
Removal:
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at their expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 7 business days after the date the bill of sale is issued.

They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the Purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.
