Spent Car, Marine, ATV and UPS Batteries

  • Various types: Torquemaster, Eveready, Westward, EBC, Deltran
  • Condition:
    • Recycling/scrap value only
    • All are spent or cannot consistently hold a charge
  • Total weight: Approximately 1200-1500lbs
    • Some individual batteries are over 80lbs each

Additional comments:

Inspection and Removal

  1. The Purchaser shall comply with all standards set out in the Act on Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and any other provincial and/or federal regulation for handling, packaging and shipping prior to the batteries being released.
  2. The Purchaser will provide all required placards to be placed on the vehicle being used to transport the batteries.
  3. The on-site custodian must approve the transport arrangements and may request to view the ERAP (if required)or other documentation before loading takes place. If the custodian is in doubt about the safety of the loading or transport the Purchaser may be turned away. It is strongly suggested that the Purchaser contact the custodian with their documentation beforehand so as not to delay or postpone loading.
  4. Skids have not been readied for transport
  5. The Purchaser is responsible for making all shipping arrangements and for all costs incurred. The Purchaser must come equipped and prepared with proper equipment to pick up the lot from the building, example: dollies, carts, vehicle and/or trucks, as well as proper amount of staff/help for the move.
  6. Sold used, without inspection and may require unknown repairs
  7. An appointment must be made with the contact person to view and remove the item(s).
  8. Any member of the public wishing to view or pick up material must first sign in with building security.

The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 3 calendar days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at his expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 5 calendar days after the date the bill of sale is issued.


This sale is subject to all of the clauses outlined in the GCSurplus General terms and conditions A , unless General terms and conditions B are cited.
The Purchaser must also pay particular attention to the following clauses.

The item(s) described herein are being sold offsite and not from a GCSurplus Sales Centre. For all offsite sales, the client department is only responsible for making the sale items accessible for removal. They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.
